WEEK 11 - LEARNING FROM A BAREFOOT MOVEMENT

An interesting talk about a college in a village in India founded by Sanjit "Bunker" Roy. The village is made up of the poor inhabitants of the area and together they have achieved extra ordinary things.

The Founder is a man that was schooled in high profile, expensive schools and his parents felt he had let them down, He wanted to give back to the population in his own way and when asked by his mother what he was going to do in a village his response was "I just want to live". To me this is quite powerful and sums up many of the things that this proposal for Woodford seeks to achieve.

Bunker roy is quoted to say "[The Barefoot College is] the only college where the teacher is the learner and the learner is the teacher"
