WEEK 12 - MASTER PLAN

Option 1

Option 2

Here are two alternate master plans that I have been working on. Currently trying to determine the best location for my building. The main aim is to have the smallest impact possible on the current programing for the festival. My preference at this stage is to construct a new access to the site providing a all weather route to the proposed development. It willl allow a small housing area to the south western corner of the site with the southern portion of the site allocated for fruit and vegetable production.

WEEK 11 - LEARNING FROM A BAREFOOT MOVEMENT

An interesting talk about a college in a village in India founded by Sanjit "Bunker" Roy. The village is made up of the poor inhabitants of the area and together they have achieved extra ordinary things.

The Founder is a man that was schooled in high profile, expensive schools and his parents felt he had let them down, He wanted to give back to the population in his own way and when asked by his mother what he was going to do in a village his response was "I just want to live". To me this is quite powerful and sums up many of the things that this proposal for Woodford seeks to achieve.

Bunker roy is quoted to say "[The Barefoot College is] the only college where the teacher is the learner and the learner is the teacher"

WEEK 11 - DESIGN DEVELOPMENT

3d view of design, living spaces on each side with the kitchen detached in the center with the middle of the main building being open outdoor spaces.

Developing how the the sleeping pods may respond to the main building, currently looking at a linear design for the pods however have not settled on how this will be configured.

WEEK 10 - TREE HOUSE

Above are some pictures of an amazing tree house in New York, Given the terrain at Woodford it may be something worth looking into the tree house has a relaxing quality to it and it is something that I would like to capture in my proposed design for Woodford.

Here is also a link to the designers baumraum's website http://www.baumraum.de/ There are many different examples of tree houses they have constructed....
